One of the most popular tourist attractions in Florence, Galleria degli Uffizi is where you will find a rich collection of artworks and learn the history of medieval art and the Italian Renaissance. Galleria degli Uffizi was initially intended to be an office space for the Florentine magistrates, hence the name of the Gallery (Uffizi is “offices” in Italian).
