Le Lune del Vesuvio
Tenuta “Le lune del Vesuvio” is a winery located in the Vesuvius National Park, in the municipality of Terzigno, just a few kilometers from the famous excavations of Pompeii and Herculaneum, the Sorrento and Amalfi Coasts. Here the broom can still sprout and thrive as in the time of Giacomo Leopardi. Its location is the ideal destination for a stay, tasting the dishes and products of typical Campania cuisine and the famous Lacrima Christi wine, between a visit to the excavations of Pompeii, the MATT archaeological museum in Terzigno and a climb to the crater of Vesuvius.
The territory, rich in historical and naturalistic beauties, boasts a unique agricultural production for variety and originality of flavors. Inside the Estate, different vegetables are grown including, first of all, cherry tomatoes that will then be grouped in the famous Piennolo. The Piennolo cherry tomato is grown and preserved following traditional techniques. It is harvested at the beginning of summer and is preserved until the following spring tied in the traditional “bunches”. The pulp is very dense and compact and is particularly suitable for seasoning pasta and pizza with the simple addition of oil, basil and a pinch of salt.
