Upon your arrival, at the airport or port of Olbia, you will find a representative of Italy-Trails who will welcome you and give you the travel tools. Depending on your arrival time, you will visit the historic center of the town characterized by a large pedestrian area surrounded by shops and characteristic places where you can have breakfast. After breakfast, along the road from Olbia to the industrial port you will visit the archaeological site of the Sacred Well Sa Testa and the remains of the nuragic village of Rio Mulinu which is located on Mount Cabu Abbas, just outside the city and from which you can enjoy the panoramic view of the Gulf of Olbia. Lunch will be in one of the many restaurants / trattorias in the streets of the center of Olbia, where you can also visit the Basilica of San Simplicio built almost entirely in granite in the 11th century. In the evening, after taking a ride on the Ferris wheel located on the seafront near the Town Hall, you will dine and spend the night in a local farmhouse. Here you will taste the dishes of Sardinian cuisine, such as Gallurese soup, suckling pig or roasted wild boar and the Seadas, accompanied by the excellent Cannonau red wine, the Bovale, or the Vermentino white wine and the famous Sardinian myrtle. Night in a farmhouse in a double room.
After breakfast, travelling along the main road 131bis in a southerly direction, you will arrive in the village of Posada from which you will start your visit to the Tepilora Regional Natural Park. 8000 hectares of pristine forests, paths and waterways, but also historical/archaeological attractions in a delicate protected system where you can spend a day immersed in nature. The delta of the Rio Posada hosts among its trails a rich and varied vegetation and is the ideal site for the sighting of numerous species of birds including cormorants, herons and flamingos that can be observed walking along the paths or during a relaxing paddle in kayak. The heart of the park, made up of woods of strawberry trees, junipers and cork trees is the habitat of mouflons, fallow deer and wild boars. On the highest peaks the symbol of this wild nature reigns, the majestic golden eagle.
Do not miss the visit to the medieval village of Posada, perched at the foot of the Castello della Fava and characterized by narrow streets, stairways, hidden squares and panoramic points from which you can enjoy a spectacular view of the surrounding landscapes. Here you can have lunch before the activities scheduled for the afternoon. After only 40 minutes in the car you will reach the historical center of Bitti where you can visit the Multimedia Museum of Singing in Tenores. 4 totems arranged in a circle, the 4 tenors singers, reproduce different sounds similar to the sounds of nature that the shepherds listened to in the solitude of the countryside. The virtual interaction allows you to reproduce the songs by isolating or synchronizing them, thus listening to the polyphony of the most archaic musical expression of central Sardinia. Night at the hotel in a double room.
In the morning after breakfast you will go even deeper into the heart of Barbagia, to spend a day in the villages of Orgosolo and Oliena. Orgosolo is a Borgo-Museum and the walk through its narrow streets and stairways that divide the houses into different levels could last for hours if you observe all the murals in the country: over 150 paintings made since 1969 that reflect social and cultural history not only of this area of Sardinia but of all Europe.
In the afternoon you will visit nearby Oliena, a village that preserves all the charm of Barbagia with its rugged and wild nature, the culture of ancient traditions, craftsmanship and the warm welcome typical of a small community. Just 9 km from Oliena is the enchanting Experience Hotel Su Gologone, where you will end your day by appreciating the allure and taste of Sardinian art. Enjoy its furnishings and shops, savoring the love for authentic and exquisite cuisine of its restaurants, all while surrounded by unspoiled nature. Overnight in double room.
